WELCOME TO THE MUTT HUTT
Enrollment is required for all dogs attending daycare or overnight stays. To enroll your dog you must fill out the enrollment forms provided on-line and your dog must be approved after an on-site evaluation. There is a $15 fee (per dog) which includes a full-day of daycare the day of the evaluation. Your dog must stay a minimum of 3 hours to complete our evaluation process. We can suggest plenty of places in historic Tremont to visit during the consultation. We have a complete guide to Tremont including a map at our facility. All dogs must arrive by 10 AM regardless of staying for the day or an overnight.
Evaluations are done by appointment only and we limit the number of new dogs we take in each day. Please call ahead to make your evaluation appointment. Once you have completed the forms, and obtained the shot records from your vet, call 216.621.MUTT to schedule the evaluation.
If you are having your dog evaluated and plan to board them shortly thereafter, please be advised that not all dogs are comfortable on their first visit and we will then require additional visits prior to boarding. You may want to have a back up plan in place. Please allow several weeks notice for booking the evaluation appointment, especially in the summer months. We need as much time as possible to evalute your dog prior to them staying overnight with us. This gives your dog enough time to get to know our facility and staff should they need another visit or two prior to their overnight stay.
Daycare reservations are required so please call ahead to make sure we have room for your dog. No walk-ins.

TOURS OF THE MUTT HUTT FACILITY
We realize that it’s important for you to see where your dog is spending its day. We pride ourselves in having a controlled and quiet pack of dogs at all times. Having “strangers” (you) walk through our lobby doors into the playroom it can upset the dogs and put unnecessary stress on the pack. We do encouage you to stop in and we can show you a peek through our lobby door to where your dog is playing. From that window you will be able to see the playroom floor and the outside access. We are unable to walk you on the playroom floor but encourage that you attend one of our many Secondhand Mutt events which allows full access. Our backyard has a 12’x4’ pool, dog houses and plenty of play equipment. The overnight stay area is located in the loft of the building and consists of an open floor plan with a kitchenette, bathroom, staff bedroom, couches, dog beds, and living area – much like a home.
EVALUATION APPOINTMENT
1. Have your vet records in front of you before you call The Mutt Hutt to make an apointment. Be sure to see if your dog is up to date on rabies, distemper and bordetella. You dog must be spayed or neutered unless they are a pup. If your dog is not up to date please have them be seen by a veterinarian before the scheduled evaluation date and bring a copy of the records with you.
2. Call 216-621-6888 and speak with one of our staff members. Allow about 5-10 minutes to go over some of your important details about your dog. Please have your vets name handy as we may need it to schedule the evaluation should you not have verification of vaccinations. Evaluation appointments are available Monday through Thursday starting at 7:30 AM.
3. If you do not have copies of your pets records we will call your veterinarian and then confirm your appointment. All dogs must be current on the required vaccinations to enter the building. This is for the safety of all the dogs that attend daycare and overnights at "The Best" facility in Cleveland.

VERIFYING VACCINATIONS
Bring proof of vaccinations from your vet or have the vet fax the vaccination records to 216-373-4902. Before your dog enters of facitliy you must provide proof from their vet that they have been vaccinated against:
REQUIRED - NO EXCEPTIONS
Distemper/Parvo (DHLPP) Vaccination
Rabies Vaccination
Bordetella*
Spayed or Neutered
Puppies require at least two rounds of distemper-parvo shots. All dogs must wear flea protection between April and the first frost of the winter. Flea collars are not acceptable, please use a topical flea preventative.
In many cases the bordetella vaccination is optional during your dogs veterinary exam so be sure to ask for it. We require your dog receives this booster at least 72 hours before they visit the facility to prevent your dog from getting sick with Canine Cough. Dogs that are not socialized with other dogs, dog parks, vets offices, pet stores have a higher chance of contracting Canine Cough. Please consult your veterinarian should you have questions about Canine Cough. The bordetella vaccination protects your dog against 50% of the strains of the virus so even with the vaccination your dog can contract the cough.

THE EVALUATION PROCESS
Because we are a cage-free facility we require that all dogs over the age of 5 months come in for an evaluation. Evaluations are done by appointment only and we limit the number of dogs we take in each day for an evaluation so we can focus on your dog. At the evaluation we will need you to bring the the completed forms, proof of vaccinations and your dog. There is a $15 fee (per dog) to enroll and that includes a full-day of daycare the day of the evaluation. Your dog must stay until at least 3 PM to complete our evaluation process.
During your dog's evalution you will meet our front desk staff person who will introduce you to the morning Crew Leader who will be introducing your dog to our pack. You will have the opportunity to speak with our staff about any issues your dog has and then we will take them on a lead to the daycare floor. Your dog will be controlled by a Pack Leader until we know they are 100% comfortable with their new friends. Once they are ready they will be released to the pack to enjoy their day of exercise and socialization. You will receive a call from the Crew Leader about mid-day to let you know how your dog is doing. At the end of the day you will again meet with the second shift Crew Leader and get a full update on how your dog's day went.
Dogs that do not attend daycare or overnights after a six-month period are subject to a second evaluation. The second evaluation cost is $20 and your dog is welcome to stay all day.

PLAY & HAVE FUN!
As soon as your dog successfully completes the evaluation they are officially enrolled at our facility and you can bring them as often as you like. We do ask that you call ahead for daycare reservations just to be sure we have room on our roster as we do limit the number of dogs per day. Being a responsible pet owner is important to us. Therefore, we request BUT DO NOT REQUIRE that your dog be registered with the Cuyahoga County Auditor (residents of Cuyahoga County). To obtain a yearly license ($20) you may get the forms at several locations or register your dog on-line. Click here for more information. Your Mutt must be spayed or neutered to play at The Mutt Hutt. Gateway Animal Clinic, a highly recommended veterinary clinic, located in Tremont provides all of the shots, an exam and heartworm testing for $60-$100. Call for spay and neuter prices. Gateway Animal Clinic is a walk-in clinic and no appointment is necessary. There can be long wait times depending the day and time of day you go.
